Ok so this got brought up today, and I'm curious what you guys think about this (kind of a silly question, but hey why not?)
So christmas is quickly approaching and I'm getting asked what I want... in which I have NO clue.
Someone said I should go make a list, which would at this point be entirely comprised of SCUBA stuff.
Well we all know SCUBA gear isnt cheap. At this point the only inexpensive things I can think of to ask for (under $100) would be a slate, wet-suit hood, etc. But the hood is kinda one of those things I would need to know what suit I'm going to get to make sure it will work (right?) Anyways, I dont know whether I should just take a trip to my LDS, and make a list of any and everything I want, Regs, gauges, BC, suit, etc. (all of which obviously over $100 more like over $200-400) Most of my family typically won't spend more than $100 for christmas. Now the other option suggested by the LDS was gift certificates, family could buy them and when I have a stack of enough of them to afford something I want, I can come use them. Also that they could do a layaway type deal for me, where I could have an item I work on paying off slowly, and they would take money from family for it as well, so I could pay on a suit, and so could my family etc.
So just curious for suggestions, should I make a list of items at the LDS (anything and everything I need/Want, etc) should I just reccomend they get gift certificates, or try and layaway an item or 2 that they can put money on for me? Or should I make a list of items off online shops (which I dont favor, as I have no way to look at the items nor know enough about them to make a proper decision)
I hate to take up the LDS's time with making lists, trying on stuff to find proper fit etc, so that family could buy the right one in the right size (though they are such great guys, they probably wouldn't mind, or not mind much)
Anyways, I appreciate all suggestions, reccomendations (on how to do this, or of things to ask for), input, etc.
Thx!
