I'll be arriving in Nadi early on a Friday AM, and I have until Saturday 1PM when I get picked-up for a week on the Nai'a :D. I'm travelling solo, and staying at the Novotel Nadi. 'Looking for suggestions for things to do that Friday. I was thinking of hitting at least one tourist spot- like the Garden of the Sleeping Giant? Nothing too involved, but I don't want to spend the day veggin' by the pool if I don't have to... Also thinking about lunch &/or dinner options- from what I've seen it looks like it will be Indian, which is great.
Any "must see's", comments, or ideas?
Thanks

You can't go wrong with a trip on Nai'a - truly a top-shelf liveaboard.

There is lots to keep you occupied in Nadi...Golf, Mountain Biking, Jet Boating, Village Visits, Hiking in National Parks, Horseback Riding Trips...depends what you are into.

Definatlely visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant and the Sri Suva Subramaniya Swami Temple.

Have a great trip.

There are the hot springs near Naviti and also the Sigatoka Sand Dunes.

I could get into all/any of those things (ok, maybe golf was in a past life), but I'm going to take it easy, so probably the Garden. and I would be very interested to hear suggestions for a walk/hike. How about tasty lunch or dinner ideas?

I arrived in Nadi after 10 days of no diving in New Zealand due to a cold. I was heading to J-M Cousteau's resort in Savu Savu, but quickly located a local dive op near my hotel and did a day of diving with them since my gills were pretty dry. I can mountain bike and do other things anywhere, but I can't dive Fiji anywhere else! Golf wasn't even an option (out of respect for the course owners who would have to replace my divots).

Now that I'm back, I can follow-up.
After the long day of travel, I was as usual kind-of "off schedule", so as I suspected I wanted to take it easy. Had breakfast at the Novotel, then hired a driver for the day. Went to the Garden of the sleeping giant- nice place for a jungle walk and a good way to start to get acclimated. Beautiful weather and scenery made for a mellow hour or so. Then it was the Nadi driving tour, with a quick stop at the Hindu temple. On to the Sofitel on Denaru island for a beach walk and lunch. Very nice place (esp. compared to the Novotel...), good lunch, good beers, and chance meeting. 'said hi to a couple guys in dive shirts, only to learn that they were also on the Nai'a the next day- but who could have foreseen that the boat would run out of red wine...? Had dinner at Curry House, which was tasty (though tough). After the week trip, we had dinner at Sitar, and the Indian/Thai food there was awesome!

1 regret- I/we should have allowed 1 more day and gone to Pacific Harbor for the shark feed/dive either before or after the trip. Next time...

Great trip!
