Sort of like minding your own business when someone's had too much to drink and starts the car?

cyklon_300:
1. Stop
2. Look in mirror
3. Identify 50 things to fix in your own life

That should keep you busy enough where you won't have time to meddle.
You were not put here to be the arbiter of domestic justice. No one, not even your friend, asked you to get involved. MYOB.

A drunk in a car can kill innocent people. You stop the drunk to protect the innocent. No one's innocent in this situation. And, its unlikely to get anyone killed.

Wife gets letter, confirms her suspicians, goes ballistic and uses a butcher knife on friend down the hall. Five years later, wife is still in jail, friend is dead, husband has remarried and is having an affair with his secretary

If you try convince your friend that this is a bad idea and fail, you should be done with the situation. All of the other options will probably end your friendship. Express yourself in the strongest possible terms to your friend and then let her be an adult and make her own mistakes or not. One of my best friends was engaged to a woman that I was convinced would ruin his life - he was a real straight shooter conservative and she was a druggie goth. They broke up and I danced a jig and told him how wonderful it was that they were no longer together. Now they are happily married and have two great little boys - My buddy and I, well, let's just say that if I had it to do over again, I'd express my opinion once and then shut up.

close to a good analogy.

There is no excuse to meddle in this. None.

"Hello?"
"Hello Mr. XXXX, this is [xxxx] from the Jerry Springer show. We'd like to invite you to be on our upcoming episode featuring 'cheating husbands'...".

:)

Except maybe the innocent wife when she has (probably) unprotected sex with someone she thinks it's safe because she is married to him?

WOW!!! I never knew Scuba Divers were such a tough crowd!!! I appreciate everyones input.

So everyone who is saying " mind your own business" "its their decision" "butt out" stuff like that I propose a question,or scenario. Your out on the town and you see your best friends wife or husband, except they are all aver someone you dont even know,so you find out they are having an affair. YOU DONT TELL YOUR FRIEND??? thats messed up! wouldnt you want them to know?
