3. Future use - I'm in NorCal and most of our dives are here. Drysuit diving is definitely our preference. I'm thinking that when the time comes that I need a separate drysuit bottle (assuming trimix for backgas) is also going to be when I start using deco/stage bottles. So, in theory, I would start using those 2 bottles at almost exactly the same time. One situation I can think of is diving nitrox and using O2 for deco in which case the 30/40 is more useful.

LOL it would be cheaper to put in a new bathroom with a tub than to foot the bill to go all the way to trimix.

Heh, that would be true if I already owned a place. For the cost of buying a house in the SF Bay area, me, my wife, our future kids and the following 5 generations will probably get trimix certified and still have enough money to pay for all the trimix we would ever need :p

What????? So you are saying that if you say you are going to use the tank for your suspension you dont have to get anual vis's????
That dont sound right. The only Not for scuba aspect gets you air without a cert card. And then you have to dign a vaiver saying what use you are getting the air for.

That sticker gets fills with no vis inpections. At least at our store and most stores around here. I checked with PSI and good with them too.

Why not just get whatever tank you are diving and dive it and use part of the remaining air for cleaning?

Tank storage in our home is the biggest issue right now and one of the main reasons I haven't got our own tanks. I don't think it makes sense for use to get 1 tank of our own and rent 3 when we go on 2 dive trips.

best thing is to grab a pair of 72's man, they're not that expensive, they're super light, easy to find, and you can just leave them in your truck or hidden away somewhere. Come out cheaper in the long run

That would be an excellent suggestion if the OP owned any scuba tanks to fill from, but he does not.

He might not own a tank, but he is still going to rent one. He could use the rental tank transfill.
