Storm:

  1. Lastly (and this will sound mushy to some but screw those who would ridicule) never leave the important things unsaid between you and your loved one(s)...you may not get the chance to say it later.

Unfortunately I learned this lesson the hard way with my father, now I make sure my loved ones know exactly how I feel about them.

Storm:
We fast tracked from our OW straight (back to back weekends) to our AOW (It was stupid and arrogant of us...two faults we would, like to think we've put behind us)...it was on our "deep dive". We spent the off season, evaluatiing the errors of that dive, spent hours in the pool working out skills, found some very experieinced tech divers, and mentored under them learning both REAL gas and dive planning, then spent this season working our way back to a comfort level. Without sounding melodramitic, it WAS a rough road back to regaining our confidence and comfort, but we're back. A lot more humble, and eager to learn. We are now more cautious, patient, and despite what we call THAT dive, are committed to the sport and have developed into much better divers as a result.

Lessons learned will stay with you,,,'nice job' sounds like on your recovery back to diving!!! :-)

CoolTech:
Ooooo... Clown Fish! I forgot about those... always lurking, then popping out at you from nowhere. They think they're soooo funny.

Still not as bad as those stinkin dolphins..oooh, lookit me..I'm a flippin dolphin, let me flip for you. ;)

Berdman:
I just think that if i peed id be swimming in my pee probaly for the rest of the dive since water doesnt flow great threw wetsuits!!! That would just ruin it for me

Come on, are you telling me you have never peed in your wet suit?

:no

Having either of my kids as my buddy and having to live with not being able to "save" me in a medical/diving incident.
Oh, I gave up on that idea a long time ago.... lol

CJ Waid:
OK, I will admitt it, I am affraid of Goby's.

I am also affraid that people will know when I am peeing in my wetsuit.
I know what you mean... I think everyone knows every time I get back on the boat and take my drysuit off...

Man, you just keep eeking me out. flippin? I don't mind that...

It's the way they are always smiling at me, like they know something I don't. I swear, one swam up to me once and said, "Thanks, for the fish".... Just feaking eery, that's all.... oooooo, yuck!

5. An IRS agent figuring out that doubles and regulators aren't tax deductible to my contracting business.
4. Getting bent.
3. Driving in Chicago to get to the harbor.
2. Any conversation with an ex-girlfriend that begins with "remember the night we...".
1. My wife figuring out how much I spent on scuba kit this year.

When I was getting my OWC we had to take our masks off and put them back on. Anyway, I took them off and for some reason thought I'd leave my eyes open, I do it all the time in the pool so I thought it would be fine. Anyway, I felt a gag and my breathing almost stopped, so I tried to take a breath, but accidently sniffed water up my nose. So by now I was trying to figure out what the hell to do...so pinched my nose and forced myself to start breathing. Lol, it was pretty embarassing, but at least I learnt my lesson: Never open your eyes without your goggles unless you have to! :p [and no one is allowed to ever hold this story against me!]
I suppose once I do some more diving I'll learn to fear propellors as much as you guys seem to.
