Of the "mainstream" magazines, I think Dive Training is among the best for the recreational diver. Rodale's Scuba Diving is OK, but I only get it because the shop gives me one every month (I wouldn't pay for it because I think it's mostly just advertising anyway). DIVER ... Canadian Magazine of Scuba Diving ... usually has some interesting articles.

Of the "quarterlies", I enjoy Advanced Diver Magazine quite a lot ... although I don't subscribe (I usually just stop by an LDS and buy one).

One of the things I hate about a lot of the dive mags is that too much focus is on tropical / carribean / warm water exotic diving.

I seldom see a mag that covers what else is out there: Northern wreck diving, alternative cold water diving spots; Great Lakes, etc., etc.,

I know it takes a markeatable approach because statistically there may be more warm water divers than cold, but does anyone know of anything else?

Try this place ...

Go browse thru some of the earlier editions ... they seem to cover pretty much all of it.

Its more tec than rec, but still has a lot of valuable information for the recreational diver and also includes locations outside the normal warm/clear.

By chance does anybody know if this is the mag set up and published by Bernie Chowdbury, the author of 'The Last Dive'?
