Hello everyone. I was wondering what would be a fair value to offer for this compressor? I do not have the year or hour count yet, but was told it was very light use. Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Helps to know what country you live in.

That is my thought process on it. Which is why I was asking what would be a fair value to counter to the seller for

A new Jr2 is around $5k IIRC. If you had year built, actual hours, service records and a recent air test, all indicating healthy, I'd say half, and dropping from that lacking real documentation. That thing will need a bunch of EvapoRust and some parts replacement if you want it looking good, and who still knows how it runs or was really cared for....

Bauer is a great compressor, but are also expensive.

How mechanically inclined are you?

Maybe check with August Industries by you (I assume from the postal code listed you are in Texas) to see what they think a refresh might be...

Thank you for the information. I am waiting the hours and year. Service records are not available, as on a boat the person just purchased. No ability to do an air test, as it is disconnected. Mechanically and electrically, I am heavily inclined. So just trying to figure out a fair price to offer for it for both parties.

I'd look at it like a project, how much are you willing to lose and then put into it? I might be inclined to low ball the **** out of the seller and just tinker w/ it.
