I am new diver and have been offered a Oceanic DataPlus Dive Computer SPG w/ temp gauge (psi and deg.f) and HP hose and compass and the PC interface. Air or Nitrox, Never been in water, original box, etc. wants 230.00 for it. Anyone have any opinions?

I have a old computer now that a friend sold cheap to me, Sherwood: The Source
I need a different comp and was wondering what you all think?

Like I said in the message, it has never been used. Looks in perfect condition. I have read some reviews..and generally they say they are ok..a few didn't. One question I have is: Is the battery user changeable? If it is, then maybe i should grab it?....

I own the Oceanic DataPlus and have used it for a few hundred dives in the last 5 years. It's easy to use. One problem is that on my last two dive trips, it has malfuncioned on the first dive of the trip and then worked fine subsequently. The malfunction is that it doesn't read the air pressure in my tank and consequently won't compute air time left.

I have added an analog pressure guage to my rig which solved my problem of having to bail on a dive. It's not elegant, but its practical.

The price of $230 seems right.

If you don't want it, let me know who has it.
