Staying at The Islander in July. I wanted to know some feedback on some of the close dive charters. I saw from the Keys Guide post that Ocean quest, SeaMonkeys, Keys Dives, & Holiday Isles are all close by. Could anyone tell me any experience they have had with any of these charters? Good or bad. Thanks!

Silent World is good too.

Silent World is great, but they are over a 30 minute drive from The Islander. Dove with Silent World 2007 while vacationing in Key Largo.

Dove with Key Dives 2006 while vacationing in Islamorada. Key Dives is very close to The Islander, maybe 2 miles or so. When the opportunity presents itself for another family vacation to the Keys, then we will stay in Islamorada and dive with Key Dives again. My son was 13 and my daughter was 17, they always had a divemaster guiding them which allowed me to snap more pics.

Silent World has expanded :)

They now also have a six-pack boat running from Islamorada.

To the original poster, it depends on what you're looking for. If you want guided dives, Key Dives or Rainbow Reef are known for that while Silent World is probably better known for doing the more advanced dives in the area. You'll find most locals would opt for Silent World while most visitors might be better off with guided dives. That being said, Silent World (or most any operator) can provide dive guides for a modest upcharge.

Wow, didn't know Silent World had expanded, that's great.

Learning this gives two great choices:
Silent World will let you go your own way under water.
Key Dives will give you a guided tour and even swap out your tanks between dives for you.

Either one is great.

have not dove with any of those ops, but have been out with Conch Republic and had an excellent experience. I've also had good experience with Silent World and Quiescence

They've also decided to stop participating and supporting our community.
