Divin' Dave:
I'm amazed at how many of you have been in my closet and checked out my gear. I'm going to stop taking my orange shovel when I dive and leave my octo home when I hike, or something like that. And duct tape my split fins, and hide my yellow whistle under my hood, and hide my snorkel in my multicolored wetsuit, and get some really big clown pockets to hide all the rest of my unnecessary stuff. Cause I look like a dork and you're all laughing at me! Oh yeah, and I'm putting a lock on my closet door!

Why don't you just stay in the closet buddy

Okay, someone explain this please..... ???????????????
I thnk they mean something like the scubapro crystalvu. I love mine. After trying it vs what the other students in my class were using, I don't see why not. The lenses aren't replaceable, but you get a very good sense of peripheral vision. Even my instructor told me to keep what I had over what they were selling.

This mask?

:rofl3:

The blue one is mine! When I got my personal gear from my LDS prior to certification, it was the one in the shop that fit me the best. With the time constraints of my two little girls keeping me from diving much at all, I have seen no need to replace it yet, especially since it still works great. You think I could take a black sharpie and color in the side panels, and the skirt? At least this way, I could be "semi-cool" .

What do you think?

Sorry, I won't color over the blue frame, as it matches my fins! :mooner:

Hey..if that's the one that fits and doesn't leave you seeing through half a mask of water...then by all means...wear it!! Only real noobs wear masks that look cool but let in half the ocean each time they descend. :)

Cheers,
Austin

p.s. Is there a PADI specialty course on "Peak Performance O.S. Deployment"?????

I think it has 2 dives and a book/class component which covers things such as OS placement, appropriate use of an OS, sharing your orange shovel with your buddy etc.
maybe part of it would include Leave no Trace training on where to dig your underwater cathole (poop pit).
:14:

Yep, been hiking / climbing well over 20 years (to 5.10 trad) and let me tell you Mr. Stick, you cant dig a sh!t hole with a stick. Love little pieces of teepee floating around places or sh!t piles all over because some people think they can... (oh and by the way its not just for diggin...)

To most of the rest, judge a man by his gear and your likely to be surprised no matter what sport your in. I usually find those most interested in my gear are least prepared because either they dont want to look stupid or are much to advanced for that piece of gear. Which is why when its needed they are asking for mine.....

Case in point here whistle, snorkel, tank banger, tank mesh, mask strap, bc padding, retractors, etc. Yep theres a list of useless items if ever I saw one....

Look im more leet than you cause I dont carry those things... I would much rather be prepared and look stupid, then be leeet and ......

is This a "Pig sticker" :) was a Christmas present and it stays on my leg when diving anywhere that someone may have been fishing. Is it N00b that I also keep a lock-blade on my BC. so that I can always get to a blade for anykinf of line?

Got rid of my Mask with the side panels for a Frameless with black skirt and no clear valve. Had to because the valve just got to where it hurt. Then again, it was a mask I bought for snorkeling and I just kept it for my classes and until I got a new mask.

Guess, I'll have to loose the retractor someday :) but for now, it is just handy for me. Then again, never thought about using it on my console, that is a cool idea.

Slap Strap is part of my "save a dive" kit :) it was given to me.

and jacket BC I just enjoy it noob or not.
