What is average surface air consumption?

Does anyone know if the Suunto Dive Manager 2.1.3 is calculating everything correctly? I just made 26 dives in Roatan with a new Cobra and my SAC's averaged .13 This sounds a little low to me. It does make a difference when I input a different working pressure. I was using 80 ft^3 and 3000 psi as the working pressure. The Cobra was keepng track of initial pressure, final pressure, and time. Not that it matters but I am just curious...

Thanks all for the info. Is this calculation something my dive instructor should have taught me? Where else is this information to be found? (Geez, this what diving has done to me: I'm actually ASKING for math calculations!!)

It is covered in tec classes not really during open water.

I'm 6'0 225 Lbs and run .45 - .5 in warm water and a wetsuit, and .7 - .75 in cold water and a drysuit.

Thanks! I downloaded it yesterday and now I have: 1. a cylinder named AL 80 that is the right size and 2. correct SAC's on the graph on the profile display.

However, The SAC listed on the air consumption page is still incorrect. Anyone know of a fix, i.e. do I have to delete all the latest dives and re download them?

I couldn't get the default cylinders to work. I had to delete them and create new ones insteading of changing them. I also had to close and open the program before the changes were reflected.

Closing and opening the program hasn't worked for me with either the 2.1.X or the 2.3.X The SAC listed on the air consumption page is still stuck on the old numbers (.09 - 1.3). As I mentioned earlier, the values on the profile graph are correct and the SAC listed on the computer face display shown in the upper right corner appear to be correct.

E mcScow, try changing the cylinder and changing it back again. Check the cylinder specs in on the profile page and make sure cu ft instead of liters is selected. You have to change the cylinder GLOBALLY. Changing it for each dive doesn't work. It's a wonky program.

Ya know, after a while I figured out that SAC's should be broken down into 2 kingdoms and 2 phylums . . . Warm Water, Cold Water and the under each of these, Active and Inactive.

One's SAC will hardly ever, if never, always be the same.

As someone said so long, long ago in a post so far, far away, "It's not a contest."

But, in the end there is the SAC-ti Sanctorum !!!!
