I'm just wondering how my air consumption compares to others. I have no idea if it's good, bad, or average. I don't seem to run out sooner than anyone else, but I kinda think I might be a bit of a hoover for my size. If you're willing to share your info, here's mine. I'm including lots of stats because I know theoretically it matters if you are a big guy comparing to a small woman. Although my dive instructor is a really big guy, and I am a smallish woman, and I know he breathes better than me.

usual scr as calculated by my vytech is .46 -.48

Thanks! If you have any tips on how to conserve safely, please do!

LOL!!!

I'd kill for that SAC rate... I couldn't hit that if I was laying on the bottom reading a book.

From the looks of your picture, you might conserve a bit more if you clean up your trim, and clean up all those danglies.

ccohn, I don't know if you are diving with buddies with gills, but you are not a hoover! :)

0.60 is pretty normal for me, 0.75 is stressed, 0.45 is a good day. 5'10", 200#, male, drysuit, cold water.

.4 to .8

Usual cold water sac is mid to low .5s usual warm water sac is mid .4s low 4s if drift diving.

I had a record .8something a few weeks ago - cold very rough water, super low viz, a period of about 15 minutes fighting a very strong current with all my might and thinking there was a resonable chance I was going to be smashed into a million pieces on some wash rocks. Good times.

Hold on folks...Let's wait up for the guys who'll say that comparing SAC rates is bogus. :D

Does anyone know if the Suunto Dive Manager 2.1.3 is calculating everything correctly? I just made 26 dives in Roatan with a new Cobra and my SAC's averaged .13 This sounds a little low to me. It does make a difference when I input a different working pressure. I was using 80 ft^3 and 3000 psi as the working pressure. The Cobra was keepng track of initial pressure, final pressure, and time. Not that it matters but I am just curious...

I hate comparing SAC rates to females. My normal slowly moving around is about .85.

Ugghh... my vyper says .65 is the best I've ever had on a dive. And, I was practically motionless on that dive.
