What is an Octo?

I think it got the name " Octo " was that adding it to a normal rig of the day was looked at as just more crap and not needed.. The name stuck and the negative part of the name left... I think if we look at consoles, We see the same thing... They were looked at as a good thing.. It started as a SPG... Then a depth gage & timer was added.. Then a compass... Then a computer.. They just got bigger and bigger... Now consoles are looked at as a poor choice... And the world goes around..
