I wish Scubaboard give us divers who pay a little dough more time with their post on line than those who pay nothing and bury your post in a few minutes or so . Cough up some dough all you cheapos if you do not like what I say !! And have a nice day Rumdumb

I don't like that people don't read posts closely. So they then write and react to something the poster never said, or worse, react to something they think the poster THINKS from something they posted, but never actually said. Then, when you say you never said that, ( being a novice poster), other posters join in and agree with the person misunderstanding you.

This can be a very educational forum. However, as a newbie, its becomes very depressing and very negative to the point I dont want to even use it anymore. Very rarely does someone say, I'm sorry, you didn't say that. I feel it sometimes becomes I'm an expert so you know nothing forum.

AFAIK, section for new divers has special rules for posting, but sometimes you just have to be blunt.
But, at the end of the day, it's a public forum. You just need to learn to brush off stuff you don't like.

I don't agree that newbies should be out with their go-pros trying to take pics when they can't even control their buoyancy and get their air consumption under control. Nail the basics, get the master diver cert, THEN get the split fins and the go-pros.

I totally agree about newbies and go-pros and cameras. Heck, I've seen fairly advanced divers crashing into people, standing on reefs, hitting reefs, stirring up sand, etc., in pursuit of their pictures. I wouldn't call myself advanced, but I still don't want to be diving with a gopro. I decided I wanted to buy the camera that mountsed on my hand, and then the company went into bankruptcy, so the problem would be how would this expensive camera be maintained later if I needed parts? So I still have no camera or gopro.

Many divers, both new and experienced, are not very attentive dive buddies when they are using a camera.
I think there should be camera boats and no-camera boats.

My GoPro is a lot more important to me than any buddy, so given the choice, have fun out there
