There are a number of sellers in classified who offer mostly low value junk and are bumping all their junk posts every few weeks with $1 or $2 dollar "savings" to the tune of 100+ posts per month. These sellers get a value from the site and give almost nothing back.

My suggestion is if people are posting over 60 items or bumps in a month (average of 2 per day), then they should give something back by being required to "go red" I call this the "yohan rule".

Mate, access to these treasures, even at retail prices is interesting, and keeps the joint churning over mate
There's this cause they invented a few years back, they're warming something, take that up, it's global too

@Curious_George

Totally agree with you and something we have been discussing frequently in the back room.

Other forums I participate require a "payed membership" to post in the forum's classifieds. One actually requires buyers to pay to access the classifieds (which I feel is stupid)...

The cost to go red is not that high. Classifieds is for the community and should be a privilege. Either make the post count very high or require support, i.e. going red. I too see very many folks coming here to sell equipment and very little interaction with the rest of the board. They get their minimum post count and you only see them in the classifieds. This defeats the purpose of the classifieds, as it was started for the members of the community only. I define a member as someone who contributes on a regular basis or supports the board financially. My posts were not as regular and so I started supporting financially because I benefit from this board significantly, mostly just the discussions on equipment and standards.

Don’t like the idea, we already miss out on things with the minimum post requirement and the slow approval time.
