I'm thinking about the Ocean Images housing for the Sony HC-5 but I'd like to look at other options too. Except I can't find any. Does anyone know if the Ikelite housing for the HC-3 fits the HC-5 as well? Ikelite doesn't show any housing for the HC-5.

I prefer the Ikelite over the Ocean Images because you can unscrew and screw on a wide angle lens to the housing. The OI one has an optional wide angle lens they can mold to the housing. Which means to me that it is permanent. I like having options.

Any ideas?

Since the HC5 is a new camera most mfr's don't list it yet. Since it's slightly smaller than the HC3 but basically the same form factor - i.e. the lens is in the same position etc. - most have to do minimum retooling to house it. Here's a short list by price(ascending) of who does or should have one soon.

TopDawg
O/I Dolphin
O/I HC5 housing
Ikelite
Equinox
USVH
Seatool
Amphibico
Light & Motion
Gates

There's others also but these are (mostly) U.S. based.

You know sjspeck, as much as you've helped me---I should pay you a consultation fee :-)

I just looked online and it seems that the HC5 is cheaper than the HC3 which seems to be very hard to find right now. I thought that was weird.

I guess I'll check and see if any besides OI intends to put one out in the next month or so. Thanks...again :-)
