On the bp pad, I had one but when I got my 6' safety sausage I could not figure a way to get it in there without it pushing the bp pretty far away. I have not tried it in water, and it may feel/be different there like a lot of stuff.

I have heard of just folding it up and putting it between my back and bp, that def works better on land. The 6' one bareley fits in the pocket so that is not really a good option.

I have dived without the pad and could tell no difference.

Hi Tommy,
Shane has the 6' big SMB and he doesn't stuff his in the pack either...
Course he doesn't have a pack but even if he did I don't think it would fit very well....
I use the 70# lift bag and it works like a champ....
On my other SS backplate I don't have a pack and I can't tell the difference in the way it feels on my back....
But I sure wish I had a pack for it to stuff my lift bag into....
Hint... hint....
