As prviously posted, if you conjugate the verb "to swim" as

swim
swam
swum

how do you conjugate the verb "to dim?"

As dkigreg says, this construction uses the verb 'to go'. Then again, since I got a taxi to the yacht club where my LDS keeps its boat, rode the boat to and from the dive site, and then travelled home by train, there was more 'going' than diving. 'I went diving' covers the whole day.

Failing that, I dived.

Anyway, the cool thing about the English language is its rebellious inconsistency.
