This could really be broken down into 2 components (and a 3rd if you include reliability and maintainence)

1) Intuitive operation of the buttons
2) Easy to see and understand display

Thanks

I've found most Pelagic Pressure Systems computers (Oceanic, Aeris, etc.) to be the most intuitive to use.

For easy to see/understand display, I think most recent computers (Pelagic, Suunto, UWATEC, Cochran) are quite well designed. For very large, clear numbers, go for Pelagic or Cochran.

Reliability? From my experience, definitely the non-air integrated Cochrans (Commander, EMC-16, etc.).

Suunto Gekko.

To dive air, you just dive it. To plan, you press the plan button and use the up and down arrows. That's about it. To dive nitrox, you have to set your mix and ppO2 limit, but past that, it's the same as air.

The display is large, and the biggest number in the middle of the display is NDL minutes remaining, with current depth prominently displayed in large numbers on the top left. (Temperature and dive time are on the bottom row, and maximum depth is on the top right, and in nitrox mode, the O2 percentage is shown.)

Suuntos. Certainly not the Uwatecs with their wet contacts :shakehead

Cheers.

I've heard the most raves about Oceanic/Aeris, from a user-friendliness standpoint. Oceanic also has several with very nice large screens, far moreso than Suunto (which I strongly dislike for a variety of reasons).

Uwatec is probably the least user-friendly (of the major brands), but I've never had a problem figuring it out... this ain't rocket science.

I agree, Oceanic/Aeris. My husband has an Oceanic and I have an Aeris and they work exactly the same way.....super easy, we haven't needed the manual since we got them.

Apeks Quantom is an awesome computer. Super easy, Do not need to know anything. Just set and go :), Thats how i like it.
Cheers

I really like my Wisdom...big screen, easy to understand display, very easy to set, you can change your own batteries....

I did quite a few dives on my suunto gekko and I found it to be quite a great investment the only reason I do not use it now is that I have a nitek HE
