..Oh and how could I forget...MY CAR KEY on Sunday!!!! Notice no dive report from me on Sunday?......embarrasing....:14:

Ouch...that does suck...
At least when I lose mine I know where they are...9 times out of 10 hanging in the ignition.

A fin at Pebble Beach, a light at Lane's Cove, and (don't remember where) a writing slate with integrated compass I had just found! I picked it off the bottom and, for lack of a better place, attached it to the clip on my light and proceeded to swim with the light lanyard on my wrist. Few minutes later I look at my light -- the clip is gone, and so is the newly found slate! The cable tie that used to connect the light and the clip had parted.

I was lucky at that -- had it parted while the light was clipped to a D-ring, I would have lost the light.

I've lost a Lobster gauge at Sandwich Town Beach, digital camera at Flagg Rock (that one hurt, $300.00).

Digital BT off of Satan's Ledge

Bug-bag and clip off of Pulpit/Seal Rocks

Weight belt off of Isles of Shoals

Lunch off of several locations ... ;)

I lost my swimsuit playing underwater hockey last week..... :11:

Well... not while playing..... I left it in the locker room when I changed after the game. But when I say it that way it doesn't sound as funny. :D

Hmmm...

A stobe light at the Chester Polling.

A weight belt at Two Lights, Cape Elizabeth, towing a tired diver in... found 7 months later (I guess that doesn't count).

A dive flag on a float at Jamestown, RI.

A dive flag, Rye Beach, N.H.

<sigh>

SMB at Ft Wetherill last year

My beloved (and subsequently thoroughly whined about) Sherwood Mini Magnum mask. It was the most perfect mask I ever had...and I have yet to find another one that fits me so well.

I lost it doing a back roll into the water. I had my hand on it on the way in, scrunched it back down over the hood once I was in, but not far enough...it popped right off like a rubber band.

I am sad just thinking about it...poor baby, lying there next to the wreck of the Romance...all alone...

my first loss was Jetfin and Mask during one of my first dives at Nubble. Wave came crashing in and woops! Surprisingly, one of the other divers in my group found the mask the following weekend.

Scubapro mask. Was loading car after Cape Ann divers charter and put Mask on top of car in its case. Totally spaced and drove away. Some lucky ******* probably came across it in parking lot and said, hey look at this! some idiot left his mask! Diving was so good that day wanted to do another dive at Folly. Had suited up and then realized no mask! That sucked. My sacrifice to dive gods. I still drove to Cape Ann Divers and bought same at retail $$$. (you have to love the sport)

I can identify with losing mask during back roll. I've had that happen to me. Did back flip and mask slides off. I now know to hang on to back and front of mask! It was a shallow dive so I borrowed the only other mask available (a kids mask that barely fit) and luckly came upon it.

Also, I sometimes put mask up on forehead as exiting. (I know, stupid..) I forget up there and then take hood off and there goes mask over side. I've jumped in and recovered every time yet I still don't learn.

I've lost catch bag full of artificacts/goodies in Piscataqua (had to ditch as mis-judged current and bag was too heavy) Also, lost a couple knives that had on sheath on regulator. It took a while to figure out not a good system.

Two losses: First one was BC dive pockets and weights (subsequently recovered) off Nubble Light. Second was dive knife during a coastal cleanup last fall off Strawberry Banke. (Luis: If you find a titanium knife there during one of your dives, let me know.) Knife was a gift from my sons but I've never needed to use it.
