I've "spotted" for bobbing SMBs on more than a few boats. Pink and green are much harder to see in the distance than orange. I only carry an orange SMB.
Pink primary, and a yellow emergency one (that I usually only bring on drift / big current dives). A number of instructors mentioned to me that pink is often more visible and preferred by boat captains, but conditions of course will affect that and it's clearly not quite a universal position.

all are Orange color in our club, except one which is Pink, that remained on the shelf the whole season.
for safety reasons our dive director lent DSMBs and Cressi Leonardo to every diver who didn't have one.
