what bulb?

how can i tell what kind of bulb a bulb is if it has no markings on it? it came in a big old halcyon can light i bought and has nothing to indicate what it is, it burns birhgt and project white white,like my old light cannon so im thinking its a 10w hid? i dunno, any help is appreciated

HID will have a ballast. Yours doesn't ( I remember the auction for the light you got). It most likely is a 50W halogen
