Looking at getting some tall booties. Zipper or no zipper? what should i look for in a good booty?

Not the thread that I thought it was...

What's a tall booty? I can't imagine that it goes up to the knee? When I dive wet, I use Henderson hyperstrech booties- No zipper, great fit, and they have shoe-like soles, so they are very comfy. The soles are also great when walking over rocks since my feet don't suffer like they do in the booties with the thin soles.

Tall booties are your standard above-the-ankle boots. There are also shorter 'tropical' boots that fit about like a pair of those short socks.

I suggest the tall boots. They'll keep your ankles warm and help to slow down water transfer. Also, when your wetsuit rides up your ankle a little bit while you're swimming, you won't have 3" of leg exposed to freeze off.

Do you dive cold water or Warm water? If you dive in a shorty then short booties 3M or less. If you dive 7M the get long, I have zipper 5M they keep me warm.

This MUST be a trick question. I don't think there's anyone on SB that doesn't know what kind of booty I like.

Seriously, I've found a lot of poor quality out there in this area. Some booties seem to last me a summer season, others (with some typical Dr. Bill modifications as they age) wear reasonable well. So far the worst for me have been Tusa tall booties while the best have been a pair of O'Neills that have last about three years I think (although I've been told I should have dumped them a year ago). I do walk home in mile (a mile from the dive park) so they do get some abuse.

I like a firm and ...Oh wait, you mean boots.

Henderson Hyperstretch. One dive from shore will sell you. Comfortable like tennis shoes and no sand/rocks at all. Side benefit is my Quattro's don't cramp me much at all anymore.

I like a tall 5M booty with a zipper and a good thick sole for walking around in. Never tried the Henderson booty, but i love their Hyperstretch wetsuits.

Apparently, I have been hanging around with too many guys. *shakes head* totally thought this was something different :D

I like the Seasoft Titanium Stealth boot. It does require a rather large fin pocket but it is really comfortable to walk in.

I dive XS scuba 5 mm tall with felt soles . There a little hard on thew feet walking out on the coral , but the traction is great.
