I Dive with the Sherwood Avid B.C. I tell ya what, it's a very simple, sturdy, weight integrated B.C. that fit's well and is everything that I need.

As for my Regulator I use the Genesis GS2000 at the moment. My only complaint about it is that when i turn my head to either side, water leaks in from somewhere and it's very irritating. Anyone else had this issue with it??

I may go back to my old reliable U.S. Divers Reg that's over 12 yrs old.....never had one issue with it....;)

BC: Atmos XT
Reg: Mares Metal Tech

BC, Fits me very well, plenty of open room in front I dig it! Reg, just like a proton metal but with a small lighter first stage.... Its light easy to breath and yes... I dig it too!

Vie:
BC: Halcyon stainless steel backplate + Eclipse 30 wing.

Pro(s): Compact, modular system - easy to use, easy to travel with.
Con(s): Expensive. Pointless but very pretty "stainless" steel inflator, way too many "H" logos...

What Vie said for the BC.

Regs. Mares Abyss

Pros. Breaths well and dry, metal so less dry mouth
Cons. Cannot be taken apart underwater or without tools.

Aqualung Titan.
Pros. Reliable breaths well, easily taken apart.
Cons. Plastic, drier mouth.

DSS Single Tank Rig (BP/W, LCD 30 wing, hogarthian harness).
Sherwood Blizzard Reg.

Absolutely love the BP/W.

BC: Aqualung Maverick
Reg: Aqualung Titan LX

Like them both and they were reasonably priced.

BCD: Sherwood Avid
Reg: Aqualung Titan LX, Aqualung ABS Octopus, Suunto Cobra Computer
:D

BCD: Scubapro S-Tec, nice ride when under water with lots of D-rings (Like flying underwater). Takes some getting used to on the surface, so spend more time underwater. Recommend a wing like a S-Tec as it is less constricting while diving.

Reg: Apeks TX50, Gives you air at whatever angle and is easily adjustable to control how hard you have to suck. Only downside is that it looks a bit chunky.

What ever reg I recommend getting a mouthpiece mouldable to your teeth as the less effort you have to use hanging on to your reg the better.

See if you can join a club and try a few different regs/BCD's before you buy. Get something you are comfortable with but your Reg supplies the AIR so make sure that you get a quality set!!!
Happy Spending

Scubapro Mk25/S600 w/Halcyon SPG, bungee'd R390 backup. Fantastic regs. Currently I use a Zeagle Ranger. I love the BC, comfortable & great balance. I really like the air dumps, & OPVs. I'm buying a bp/w very soon. Just because I want to.

Scubapro MK25/S600. Alternate between Seaquest Pro-Ultra (if I want to be really comfortable) and Halcyon Pioneer 36 -just got it so still comparing it to the other.

SeaQuest Balance BCD, and love it.
Oceanic Omega regs (bought in 1990) still do the job, but the Omega 2nd stage does breathe wet, especially if I tilt my head at the wrong angle. If the water is particularly salty I'll often swap out and breathe from my Alpha occy for some of the dive. I think its just about time to relegate the Oceanics to a backup set, and replace with some new Apeks or Scubapro
