A Scubapro D400 with a Mark 20, and a Scubapro 650 with a Mark 25...both great rigs, first no longer available new, but can be found on eBay for a great price. As for a BC, Scubapro Classic, used by Howard Hall and others who live in the water. Like th man say's see yoru Scubparo dealer and learn.

I Use The
Seaquest balance bcd
aqualung titan supream lx with the cold water kit

BCD:

DSS Single Tank Rig w/30# wing
-Perfect setup for single tank diving, especially in warmer months because I don't need to carry any additional weight.

FredT 1/4" SS Plate on order (12 pounds) to allow me to cut weight off the belt in winter.

Regulator:

Apeks ATX200
-Breathes great, works in any climate.

BC: Halcyon stainless steel backplate + Eclipse 30 wing.

Pro(s): Compact, modular system - easy to use, easy to travel with.
Con(s): Expensive. Pointless but very pretty "stainless" steel inflator, way too many "H" logos...

Reg(s): Scubapro MK20 (Yoke)/S600/R390, Apeks FSR (DIN)/ATX200

Both have been totally reliable. MK20 hose routing is excellent for single tank diving. I use the MK20 for local warm water diving. My Apeks is my travel reg - it is extremely compact, environmentally sealed, easy to service.

DSS Single Tank Rig (BP/W, LCD 30 wing, hogarthian harness). Apeks TX50/TX40/DST with long hose and bungeed backup.

Pros:
The BP/W makes a great unified system for diving. Trims great at depth, trims great at the surface, dries in seconds. The Apeks second stages are just about bulletproof.

Cons:
The swivel turret on the DST first stage is useless, so is the one 1/2" LP port. Best bet would be to save a few bucks and get the DS4 first stage instead. If you go with the bungeed backup the smaller ATX50 or ATX40 second stage might be a better choice for that reg.

Halcyon Eclipse wing and Aqualung Titan LX regs. Do a bit of tech diving down to around 160ft, both still function beautifully. Plan to get Apex regs sometime and put the Titan on my stage bottle.

Diverite S/S Transplate with Recwings, and Mares MR22 Abyss Reg, Axis Octo and Dacor Darwin Computer/Guages.

My reg: USD Conshelf SE3
My BCD: Aqualung Wave

No problems with either. I believe in the KISS principle.
