I just love to swim and dive and I got to the point where I could afford scuba. I always wanted to be able to breath underwater so why not. Plus the training is a good challange.

1) Adventure! Planning, gearing up, diving into the darkness of the icy waters...
2) It just feels good to be underwater
3) Water in the wrong place - and I want past it

And yes, I watched Cousteau and Star Trek.

...,so,is it that what attracts most divers for diving?.

Because you can't see stuff like this anywhere else.;)

Quiet and relaxing while still requiring enough attention to take your mind off life. If anything bad happens there's plenty of time to react. Very low impact, broken bones and concussions are unlikely. Enjoy developing new skills and the technical nature of equipment/gases etc.

Mostly it gives me an excuse to wear a spare air or two so I look cool....;)

Descending weightlessly into another world. Looking down into the clear blue and experiencing something that does not exist on terraferma. A place where few are willing to go but many wish they could. To see a greater variety of life all at once than any other place on earth......

The COLORS on a tropical reef --more vibrant, concentrated and wilder than anything you can see on land (the only thing that comes close is maybe the tulips in Holland).

Pretty much everything. The weightlessness, the sensation of flying, the beauty, the uniqueness/quantity of creatures, the solitude, and the quality of the equiptment (made in USA, made in France, made in Italy...take that China!). Definitely there are things that suck about SCUBA...cost, hauling gear, cleaning gear, kitting up, STAIRS! But overall the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
