What are these cylinders used for and their worth?

FWIW, I finally got these things in the water today as SM bailuent with my Choptima. I‘m using them for shallow NDL dives for now.
Holy crap are these things negatively buoyant…I mean like gravitational force alone can’t possibly account for the downward pull these little tanks have, they must have magnets in them that are interacting with earths magnetic field.
Down force aside, they actually work really well and I like them. I dive cold water so I need the weight. They tuck in super tight and do a great job providing the ballast I need.

Those would make a sweet little set of mini doubles for North Coast of CA shore diving.
I could get away with a puny little weightbelt with my 7 mil.
Those that suggested turning them into bells, you need to get away from your computer and go lay down!
