Here is what it looks like when it goes…enough force to start you upwards. These were relatively new.
That does not look like an Omni swivel?

I've seen the new model with the set screw while bumming around online. I didn't know about the upgrade kit. Thanks for informing us.There is an old style with the lock set screw butting into the base of the main screw and the new type that jams the set screw into the main screw from the side (more conventional use of a set screw) you can buy an upgrade kit. I have used the old style for a long time but have been upgrading as a service
In the picture the shiny chrome is not Omni but I don’t know how those other ones may differ from Omni.Admittedly, I can neither confirm nor deny if they were Omniswivel brand or not. It has been a few years and I have had quite a few reg sets. They were in a Cave Adventurers complete sidemount reg package, so whatever ball type swivel they use would be the one. I will also add that I have never had an issue with a right angle adapter.
That is not an Omni swivel. I have no idea what sort of copy is provided in some kits but I know of no Omni Swivel, the real deal, failing after the service kit issue. Everyone that claimed it so upon investigation, it was not. The Omni brand is reliable, the others are not. If it does not say Omni on it I would suggest filing it in the round trash receptacle.Admittedly, I can neither confirm nor deny if they were Omniswivel brand or not.
