I added this Omni Swivel on the 40-inch hose on my primary donate a few months ago. I like this swivel as it makes routing the hose under my arm easier. I was concerned about the screw backing out so used a Sharpie to mark a line across the screw and the swivel body. If the screw does start turning I will see the misalignment of the line. I visually inspect the swivel before and after every dive and make a fresh mark with the Sharpie after a number of dives. No issues after 40+ dives.
That is a fantastic and simple to idea to help cut down on the concern. I just got a new to me atomic and I am looking forward out both the reg set but also the swivel.

I used generic 70 degree swivels for years with no issue but recently moved to Kirby Morgan ones since they are made with less parts and thus less chance of failure (lot more money but never heard of an issue with one). Kinda like Omniswivel vs. generic. You get what you pay for and my life is worth a few bucks more.
Hadn’t heard of Kirby Morgan before, thanks

I use a comfo bite mouthpiece to avoid mouth fatigue. I don't use a swivel.

I have an Omni brand swivel made specifically for my Poseidon Jetstream.

Very comfortable and rigged on a 40 inches hose under my arm. For my 60/72 inches primary, no swivel usually and if I do it is the simple 70/90 degree types. For rigs that have a 40 inches hose, streamlined/Florida rig, I use the 70 degree types. The genuine Omni brand swivels work fine, the cheap clones, not so much.

For a while I uses a swivel on my long hose primary:

To avoid this without:

But with practice and technique decided the swivel was not needed and reverted. But still use them on a streamlined 40 inches hose primary rigged regulator.

And my Jetstream still has the Omni ;).

I've been using a Piranha Mfg Swivel for several years. Doing the required maintenance, there will be no issues.
I've also used LP hoses with swivel connection to the second stage. This type of hose/swivel allows an angle not larger than 30 degrees in any direction. However, this type of swivel tends to get stiff with time.

On one hand they same like great inventions that increase comfort in a dive. On the other hand, it seems like adding an additional potential point of failure to your kit.

Been looking at the Omni swivel as an add-on. Cheaper brand reviews mention leaks, but Omni has positive reviews.

Added weight and has this cool feature where it blows up in your face while tying off a jump inside a cave. Never again for me. Hard pass.

Here is what it looks like when it goes…enough force to start you upwards. These were relatively new.
