I went with All4Diving last October. Greg is a nice instructor, and the DMs are really helpful. Here’s a picture of me and a training wreck in Bay 1.

Would recommend Koh Bida Nok, Bay 1, (not a big fan of Shark Point because I didn’t see any shark at that time :/)

Thank you for the suggestion. Looking good, icyz_!

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked up the incident with the Big Buddha in Kata Beach. Very unfortunate; site is still closed. I'll have to save Phattahlung and Nikhon Si Thammaratt for another trip. Maybe when I visit Koh Tao.
Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe would be better than Koh Tao.

That’s a pretty pic! Which camera gives the depth info like that? GoPro? I heard the recent DJI Action5 also does that…

It's a dive log app called DiverPlus on iOS. I developed it myself. It can actually shows you the depth profile on the image as well but my Suunto D5 didn't record the dive log so I missed the opportunity o_O

Ok I will check it out. But my point is that the camera has to record the depth similar to like how GPS info is logged with a snapshot nowadays ….

DJI or GoPro works for that, but i personally would trust my dive computers more for depth records since it is more optimised for that.

Right so are you manually adding the depth after correlating the timestamps of the video and dive log visually?

I don't make video overlays yet (only pictures) so no need to correlate any timestamps.

However most action cams like GoPro, have telemetry to it when you record, so you can pretty much just make an overlay out of it on Quik app, and to add the depth profile to the overlay, you need to extract the samples from the dive log data and import it to the overlay.

I think people mostly use DashWare, but no one has bother to make a one-click solution out of it yet. Maybe i probably would if i have the mood to do so after completing my dive log app.

Much thanks for the input from the community. My itinerary is shaping up! My dive buddy and I will arrive the international airport and head to Khao Lak to spend a few days doing activities (no diving). Then we'll dive off The Junk for a week, return, and we'll head to Chalong for a few days to do a few day boat charters.

You may consider diving from Koh Yao Yai with Elixir Divers as well. Same locations but small groups and more convenient timewise.
