PfcAJ:
I can dive with you, and I have in the past. About two years ago, actually.

This isn't a GUE vs non-GUE thing, really. I can/will/do dive with whomever I please. And no, being a stroke has nothing to do with GUE/DIR. If you're a safe diver, then you're good to go in my book.

Really?
Hmmm....
OK ... :D

Well , see ya around Cave Country.
Hey , we agree...
If we are SAFE divers well , that's what counts in my book too.
Cool beaners :D

Da Bean

P.S. Thanks for the GUE/non-GUE update. See , I just don't know enough about some things.

Yeah, this stereotype that DIR divers only dive with DIR divers just won't die . . . Even though it is quite untrue.

One of the most delightful divers I've had the good fortune to be underwater with is do it easy, and he's not DIR, but I'd do any dive I'm capable of doing myself with him as a buddy.

I'd probably do any number of dives with a smoker, as well, but not the deeper ones where I'm a little anxious about the dive anyway. Just me.

PfcAJ:
See how much better that is? We're all friends once we get past this stigma and such!

You betcha !!!
Thanks again for beating some sense into an old ladies head!
Gads , where did these bumps come from? :D

Those are the caveats I always mention. The more demanding the dive, the more picky I become. I can overlook some things for some dives, other things, not so much. It depends on the situation.

Thanks for the kind words :)

If they are going to say no to smokers, they should include the whole gambit. Obesity, alcohol and caffeine too.

WHAT!!!???
You can have my Starbucks when you pry it out of my Seattle-cold, soggy hand!!! ;)

Seriously, I once started a thread about DIR and alcohol abstinence and just about got lynched.

Does GUE also state no alcohol within x days or hours or something too?
Well, I did have a beer during my video review. ;)

GUE recommends limited or no alcohol consumption, maintenance of normal body weight, at least three 30 minute cardiovascular exercise sessions per week, and forbids smoking or recreational drug use.
