I've been doing my NAUI Intro to Tech, and struggling so much with the back kick while wearing my Beuchat X-Jets. So last night I called my instructor and asked him to bring a set of OMS Slipstreams for me to try out in the pool. What would you know...I can backfin!! I was moving towards another student to practice a bubble check and S drill, and we started drifting towards each other, I started trying to keep some distance, and holy crap I was going backwards! I knew there must have been a reason you experienced tech divers were diving Jet fin style fins. Looks like I'm off to the shop on Saturday to pick up a set of Slipstreams before my charter this weekend.

Can't wait to get mine into the water, I've only had quattros with my tech rig...

The OMS Slipstreams are nice....and I still like the Mares Qauttros....I have and use both at times.

I like my Slipstreams, too. Are you diving out of St Catharines this weekend, Jimmer? The Tiller?

No, I'm diving the Wilma in Erie on Sunday. We launch out of Turkey Point. I'm gonna try a set of Turtles as well before I decide which ones I'm going to get.

I borrowed a set of slipstreams from my dive shop when my drysuit came with hard boots, Used them as I partnered with my fiance for her cavern course, they do offer a good deal of control and it is easy to perform the advanced maneuvers with them, but my drysuit went in after her course and had the soft boots put on so that I can go back to using my jets. Nothing like the originals/ There is a reason they are still around and so popular after all these years.

I would endorse the slipstreams, but gotta give the props to the jets when it gets down to absolute favorite.

Thats my $ .02 worth anyway....
