after finishing up our dive at Vets we surfaced to see a baby Grey whale. we all got out and stood on the beach watching this magnificiant creature. Kourosh [i know this is spelled wrong] and I realized that it was starting to beach itself. the whale was in about 8' of water and with every swell with would roll on its side. we decided to grab our snokeling gear and get it to head back out to sea. we were 5' away from the whale. it headed a little north towards the pier then it finally headed back out to sea. it was the most amazing thing i've ever seen!!!

who says there is nothing to see at Vets!!!

Wow... that must have been some experience!

I once had a young whale resting at the surface above me, alongside the King Neptune. I was aware of a presence, but never saw the whale and didn't know what it was until I surfaced and the divers on the boat told me what it was.

Nice meeting you last Wed.

being that close to a whale was amazing!!

BTW... great presentation Dr. Bill!! it was nice to finally meet you.

The whale has been hanging around the South Bay for a while. I spotted it off Vet's several weeks ago (I was on my bike) - in the surf zone. Really great sight.
