Lots of whale sharks today and should be even more as the week goes on. 150 + Today! crazy.

How are they usually in late August?

August is usually a good month as long as weather cooperates. September they start to thin out. Right now it is a gong show with lots of whale sharks and mantas. We have tours everyday from Cozumel.

The number of sharks out there are impressive. We went on Tuesday. Mostly 20-25 feet long. We saw a forty footer pass behind the boat right after we swam forever alongside a twenty footer.. It's like shooting fish in a barrel to photograph them. As soon as my son downloads the GoPro I will try and post.

We had probably 100+ yesterday. Spent 2 hours in the water non stop.

Epic day with lots of mantas and whale sharks.
Nearing the end of the season for tours (Sept 17)

10 of us were in Isla Mujeres last week. We tried to get in the water 3 days in a row on August 14, 15 & 16. The weather was not cooperating. The harbor master would not let any whaleshark tour boats to go out there. We just have to come back next year.
