Hi Elle-I was just reading your post, and wanted to suggest that you not miss out on Isla Holbox- it really is an incredible little place From my experience, earlier in the season-late May thru mid July, the whalesharks congregate off Cabo Catoche-closer to Holbox-and then move east towards Contoy where they begin to feed on the spawn of little tunny. So the dates you are there ARE important You can even fly from PDC to Holbox on Aerosaab and there are plenty of inexpensive places to stay if you want more than a day. I always use holboxglendytours.com and have had a great experience every time. PM me for more info if you want. Have an awesome day!
