Hello I am trying to make a trip to La Paz in early October. Are whale sharks and hammerheads around during that time? What do you recommend doing in that area?

Whale sharks are here in La Paz from mid-September through April. They are very close to the harbor and can be seen in a 2-3 hour tour. Hammerheads are found at a seamount called El Bajo, here it is possible to see small schools of scalloped hammerheads. They are usually quite deep and it's by no means guaranteed. You'll want to go with experienced divers in a small group if you want a chance to dive with them.
