Hey folks,

My fiancee and I are going to be in Cancun staying at the Iberostar for a wedding next week. Unfortunately we only have one free day to ourselves and won't be able to make it back to Cozumel and won't be able to check out any of the cenotes.

We really want to spend a day swimming with whale sharks and since I am going to try to make a GoPro video of the trip, it would be ideal if we could find a dive op that didn't require you to swim with a life vest (its hard to get good video while wearing one of those). Any recommendations on dive ops that are more forgiving about the life vest rules? I have heard good things about Scorpio

Thanks!

I think most Ops will let you swim in a neoprene suit. We wore snorkel vests and skins. Life vests would really slow you down.

Do wear enough that you can't sink. You don't want to risk an accident.

I didnt have to use a life jacket or any other floatation device - then again the op who put me on the boat had seen my dive cert, which also means I must neccesarilly have passed a swim/snorkel test...
