I hope you can do several days & nights on Utila, but a one day intro would be nice. As far as Holbox area Dominoes (sometimes they are closer to Cancun really), you could do a fast trip if neeed in July: one day to Cancun, one day out, one day back - but you'd hate to. Still, if you want to swim with the gentle giants, it may be worth that.
