Otter Bay wetsuits in Monterey made my "Captain America" model (red / blue) for no extra charge. In fact they didn't charge for the Horns as it was an exeriment for them to see if they could do it.

No "standard" size wetsuit fit me properly, so I opted for a custom wetsuit. I could have selected almost any color(s).

Hey, wear whatever you want, and to heck with anyone else. Trust me, I am easier to find underwater, and my buddy never gets confused which all black diver is me. Plus, people remember me.

I would look at it as a matter of priorities, any extra money that would be spent on looking like superman would be better spent towards other equipment or a better suit. Its your money though.

This was my point, that once the novelty wore off your extra $ spent on it could have been directed to more functional needs. But as was said, its your money.

well... i must say...

when i started reading this thread, i was going to make fun of the superhero wetsuit
thing... but... got to thinking about it

i would like a wetsuit that looks like a banana

it just (wait for it) appeals to me

I'm embarrassed that I know this. My wife wants to go here on vacation, for what reason I can't guess. She is trying to entice me with the wreck diving.

Just think Andy you could look like this...

Wristshot...I always wondered where you got your hood. I would love to have one that was a court jester.

I am fairly new at the buying procedure, so what would be the problem with having a suit like this?

Just that if you want to dive and NOT look like a SuperHero you will have to carry and purchase two wetsuits... I also think the novelty will wear off quickly. Resale value on such an item is going to be next to nothing, but if you get it custom made, then you likely won't want to sell it anyway.

When wearing such a oddity some will label you, but they will not be using the word Hero... super may get used in some contex. As to getting chicks, they will have to weigh in, but people are people, and I seriously doubt that it's going to make a huge difference either way.

IMO, if you can get one made in a 3/2mm, or even a lycra that would be the way to go. That way it would be light, and you could potentially use it on Oct 31st as well :eyebrow:
