Gidds:
I'm in the process of going dry and I'd like to hear more about these suits. Right now I can only stay in the water wet for about 20 mins. in a 7mm jumpsuit w/ appropriate accessories :frown:

I love this suit. When this suit dies I will buy another. I have not found a better bang for the buck. There are nicer suits, they are not 5 times nicer though. I bought my suit from Inland Divers in Leicester Mass. They are also a neoprene repair shop. Many shops in this area send their repair jobs to them in fact.

I added dry gloves last winter and it was fantastic. Your first dive in this suit (even with wet gloves) and you will wonder why you ever dove wet around here. That was my experience anyway. My $450 wetsuit was a complete waste of money.

Having been diving wetsuits you are already familar with the buoyancy characteristics as you descend.

"im thinking i have a good tolerance for the cold. i really like the 7mil 1pc suit and want to give it a shot."

Then visit your LDS and buy one and you'll be fine

I'd second that, plus it sounds like you've dove this suit before. If you had and liked it then I'd buy it. I know I have it and have been fine in 43 degree water for 1 hour, was ready to go again but my buddy isn't as tolerant of cold like I am. It's a good suit IMO and worth the money.

It does have limitations and I'm not sure you could dive it all year round, for example when your water hole starts icing up I'd think it would be cold, but I'd bet you could dive 9 months of the year in it pretty easy. I have at any rate.

I'm finally switching to a drysuit, got a good deal and the water has started to skim over with ice on occasions, I don't think I could go long without diving and my LDS dives all year round, even if they have to cut a hole in the ice. Of course the number of buddies drop off as it gets colder...

I gotta ask, too!
How did you get a wetsuit on over thermals and sweats without them bunching up in all sorts of uncomfortable places?
