Why is my wetsuit hurt in only the arms, on land. Im not sure if it is too tight. My instructor said i dont need a bigger one or it wont keep me warm. Please help.

It's not unusual for a wetsuit to be a bit snug on land, but feel fine in the water. It's true that without a snug fit, there will be too much water exchange throughout the suit, and you won't stay warm. However, I can't say that I've ever complained of a suit actually being painful to wear while on land.

Which part of your arms are painful? Right at the wrist, or where you bend your elbow, or is it painful in the upper arms or shoulders? How hard is it to get into your suit? Is this a rental, or is it your own suit, and what brand/thickness is it?
I find that my 7mm suit is quite a bit more restrictive than my 3mm suit, and my "off brand" (made with a cheaper neoprene that has very little stretch) 7mm suit one heck of a lot more uncomfortable than my Akona 7mm suit.

It's too tight. Buy one with larger arms. I had the same problem until I got the idea to cut the arms off at the shoulder seams. I have gorilla arms and can't buy anything that will fit them without going the cu$tom route. You're from Florida so I figure that you'll be diving down there like I do. Don't need no stinkin' arms. Actually, don't need no stinkin' legs either. If the bottom temp gets cold enough when I am diving down there in mid-winter I rent something to wear over. Most of the time the water is swimming pool temp down there. I dive with many local divers who wear only swimming trunks. As far as water entering and flowing through the suit,I find it most refreshing. Especially after having a nice pee.
