I have never been on a dive in our colder waters here in Maine, but I want to this summer. All my diving has been in warmer waters. How thick a suit in New England waters 7mm 7/5mm?

If you're going wet, you want a 2-peiece 7mm suit.. ie, 14mm over your torso. Nothing else will do.

You'll most likely dive this year round, depending on what kind of diving you do.. late in the summer you might get away with a 1-piece 7mm if you don't go too deep..

If you're going to dive regularly (once a week at least), you will definitely want a drysuit. If not, go with a 7mm farmer john.

7mm F/J min. Dry better with a good under garment.

My preference in Main waters would be a 7mm full with a 5 to 7mm snug hooded vest over the full.

I get cold easily or easier than my buddies
