Just wondering...on average, barring any problems with fit and assuming normal care, how many dives can a wetsuit be expected to last?

The rubber is good for 4 yo 7 years depending on quality.

Older suits loose plasticizer and insulation value. Deep excursions (beyond ~ 150') can break down compresability and insulation value faster. I have a 1/8" Henderson about 12 years old we call the "rubber t-shirt." It still works great as a laceration guard, but it's as warm as a t-shirt underwater. It is nice for diving the LA rigs in the August to October sauna though.

I have a 7mm two piece custom SAS wetsuit I bought in 1991 that I still use regularly, and which is in good condition long past the point when my gloves deteriorated and were replaced.
