Wetsuit is on its last legs

My 3MM shortie is starting to wear out. I'm starting to look at replacements, and am debating between another shortie and a full microprene suit.

My shortie has kept me plenty warm when I've used it, so I'm wondering - how does the warmth of a 1mm full suit compare to a 3mm shortie? Anyone have any direct comparison experience? Thx...

My 1 mil full suit is comparable to wearing the bottoms of my 3 mill farmer john.

The full coverage and less water exchange makes a difference.
