Wet suit recommendation

Hello,
I am a fairly new diver. I am looking to buy a wetsuit for my trip to dry tortugas in the keys. I want to buy one that I can use in Virginia beach waters also, so I am looking for a comprimise. I am going to be diving there over thanksgiving. I was told maybe like a 3mm full suit would be good for florida waters during thanksgiving, and decent for summer waters in virginia. Any ideas?

I've used a 3mm in Florida during the winter and it's more than adequate protection. Sometimes you might want a hood. I use Bare wetsuits and love their 3/2 Bare Velocity: http://www.bare-wetsuits.com/product_list.aspx?id=60
