Westsuit 3mil to 5mil

I am switching from a 3mil wetsuit to a 5mil wetsuit...how much more weight do I need to accomodate the extra mils?

For a starting point:

3mm jumpsuit estimate 5% of your body weight.

5mm jumpsuit estimate 10% of your body weight.

Don't forget to account for the negative buoyancy of your kit (regs, back plate, tank, etc.) Fine tune from there.

With my 3/2 mm Bare Med-Large full suit, I use 8 lbs, but with my 5/4 mm Bare Med-Large full suit I use 10-12 lbs. It works for me.

I use 2kgs in a 3mm and 4kgs in my 5mm. I'm probably a little over in the 5mm.
