We've just booked a trip back to West End, Roatan in April. Haven't been in a few years.
We hear a few places have closed, and the road is paved.

What else is new that maybe we shouldn't miss?

What are the water temps like at 60ft this time of year so I know what wetsuit to bring?

Are there any migrations or anything I should look for this time of year?

Check out the BBQ at Barefoot on Sunday nights.

In Roatan, water temps are very consistently in the 80°+ range all year long, with exceptions that a very temporary. You can usually expect 82°+, but that is really splitting hairs. It is usually a bit warmer off of the Southern shores, sometimes 84°.

April-May is my most bestest favorite time of year, but any month thru August will show you a water column that is filled with life. This is prime-time breeding/eating/growing season for all things that swim in the Ocean.

Night dives are especially good during this period. In all dives, go very slowly, look into the reef face with your flashlight (even on daylight dives), follow a good naturalist DM.

Right now, it is February 6th, and you're asking about what West End will have for you in April? I would wait until late March and ask that question again- things can change pretty fast!

I was kind of wondering the same thing....We are headed to West End this Saturday for an 11 day dive vacation. (last there 3 yrs ago)
Was also wondering if it would be worth taking an all day dive trip out to some of the remote islands. If so, can you recommend any dive ops that do those kind of trips?
Thanks!

Aqua Adventures used to do day trips to Cayos Cochinos - I would HIGHLY recommend the trip. We had a blast with them:D
