FF 3.6.18.
BTW, the posting code was determined that the above FF be lower case, and not upper case, even after editing the post, until I added this extra paragraph. Also having weird extra spaces occasionally being added when deleting or retyping words, almost like some poorly configured auto-correct is running.

There is no auto correct associated with the forum.
I can't roll back my firefox to an old version to see what your issue is. It must be browser related though, and the solution is for you to update your browser to something more current. The items you refer to are part of the quick reply box that is part of the vbulletin core, and not some enhancement for scubaboard.
If updating your browser doesn't fix the issue, I'll take another look.
