Jonix, it's not official, but for the moment it seems like I'm goign to need to stay overnight in Manilla since the plane gets in at 11:00 pm... But that flight isn't booked yet, and I'm going to see if I can get in earlier on another flight. But if I need to stay in Manilla overnight, do you have any recommendations for a place to stay? Cheap, clean and safe? Anyways, I'm sure sooner or later I'll be in Manilla (even if it's just to pick up my Girlfriend from the airport) and I'd love to meet up with ya.

some of the guys (mike veitch, scuba_si, jbb) usually stay at city garden hotel in makati. it fits your cheap, clean and safe requirement and it's about 30 minutes from the airport even with weekday traffic. google it. i'll see if i still have the contact info though.

I am not sure when you are planning to fly out but if it is sometme FEb-March 2008, check out Evergreen Airlines or EVA Air for short. They are having a seat sale to Manila for only $800+. Departure is from YVR via Taiwan. Follow this link: Let's Go to Asia!!!.

I am also thinking of taking my DM course maybe with a dive shop in San Juan or Makati (so my lodging is free since we still have a house in Pasig) or I might just stay with a relative in Cebu or be on my own in some place nice like PG or Anilao.

I'm still looking into the hotels... So far the city garden seems like a good choice... Although something cheaper might show up... I'll keep looking!

some places in pasay may be cheaper if you dont intend to stay long. names like anito, victoria and others come to mind. the other PPD should know more about these places....
