Nathalie and Jaan,

I bought a DYFOB at Dive Friends Bonaire and dived the crap out of it for a few weeks in Bonaire.

Not a hint of leakage, seemed neutrally buoyant with room key and truck fob, and was very well made. It even came with spare O-rings.

Some large diameter aluminum threaded items are kind of sketchy (like the old MagLites from my early days as a cop), but the DRYFOB’s threads were crisp and clean.

The only idea I have would be to put a lip with holes on the bottom as well as the top for a second lanyard/split ring so I can attach both ends to the holes in the side of my backplate so it doesn’t flop around.

Thanks for a great product,
DS
Thank you @divesergeant DS
We appreciate your feedback and kind words (and your support with your purchase)

We added a small 3mm hole on the bottom lip of our larger XL units. We’ve considered adding that on the smaller ones too…

Some divers have mounted it on their backplate with hose clamps and bungee which may be an alternative for now.

Check out some of the tips in our FAQ if you have not seen these already

Thanks again for sending the feedback and the encouragement :) :)

Cheers
Jaan and Nathalie

A split ring and bungees for the win!

And for the DSS purists, sorry about the book screws holding the wing to the plate. Don’t tell Tobin!

That's fine for car keys, but my PLB doesn't want to be on my backplate where I can't get at it without taking by gear off.

I get and respect that opinion.....but my personal opinion is that it is most likely that any situation where I may need to deploy / activate my PLB is a very highly unlikely scenario and so I choose to store my PLB in the back trim pocket of my rig where I am 100% confident in my ability to access it on the surface.

I think we agree that we hope you will never need it.

Well that's nice. I also hope you'll never need it.
